My Everest

After his mother dies in a wildfire, a troubled 13-year-old boy reluctantly moves in with his estranged father in Colorado, where he finds purpose and redemption by leading a crusade to save a mountain bluebird trapped in a big box hardware store, ultimately healing his relationship with his dad.

After losing his mother in a wildfire at her bird sanctuary, 13-year-old Beck reluctantly moves to Colorado with his estranged father Randy, a former mountain climber who had abandoned them years ago. In Colorado, Beck discovers birds being mistreated at a local hardware store and teams up with new friends Blythe and Chaos to expose the cruel practices. Meanwhile, a young bluebird named Safaia gets trapped inside the store after being lured in by a deceptive magpie. As Beck and his friends gather evidence of animal cruelty and stage protests, they eventually get media attention that forces the store management to take action. Through this mission to save the birds, Beck begins to heal his relationship with his father, who finds new purpose in becoming a search and rescue volunteer. The story concludes with the successful release of the trapped birds, including Safaia who reunites with her parents, while Beck decides to give his new life with his father another chance. The screenplay interweaves themes of family reconciliation, standing up for what's right, and finding one's true purpose.
