A Little Bit Crazy

A lonely widow experiencing survivor’s guilt and a homeless widower, who feels responsible for his wife’s suicide, fall in love when they come together in a reluctant second chance at confronting their past traumas and finding love.

Rick, a recently widowed 59-year-old man living out of his car with his late wife's dog, Tinkerbelle, crosses paths at a local gym with India, a 58-year-old widow whose husband recently died from ALS. Rick, whose financial resources were depleted when his wife battled late stage cancer, looks for a job as he tries to move on with his life. Meanwhile, Rick's son, Ben, struggles with depression. India becomes over-involved with her adult daughter’s life as she deals with the guilt she feels over the freedom she enjoys after years of caregiving. As fate would have it, Rick and India continue to run into each other in their small Colorado town and begin to develop into a relationship. Rick is about to escape to Cambodia to teach English when his son attempts suicide in Portland. Rick is forced confront his own denial about his wife's suicide a year earlier. India helps him realize he needs to be there for his son while realizing her daughter is more than capable of handling her own life. She decides to join Rick and their dogs on a journey to Portland, both of them finally ready to embrace life and love again after loss. This poignant comedy explores themes of grief, healing, parent-child relationships, and finding new beginnings later in life. It delves into real aspects of homelessness and walks a fine line between humor and loss.
