Saving Keylan Millar

Pilot: When Victor spirals out of control from grief, head firefighter, Keylan Millar, does his best to bring his closest friend and ‘2-IC’ back from the brink of despair. Mini-Series: Head firefighter and vigilante, Keylan Millar, determined to expose a web of corruption and violence, presents his nemesis the opportunity to bury him when taking the rap for the death of a friend.

Keylan is a fine and upstanding lead firefighter, loyal friend, and loving father, he’s also a rebellious and unconventional. When a fire situation goes horribly wrong, and his best friend, Victor, who’s also 2 IC, dies saving a child, Keylan suspects it was a virtual suicide, with Victor unable to ‘move on’ from the rape and murder of his first wife. Keylan chooses to destroy his own career and reputation for the sake of saving Victor’s. Keylan pleads guilty to being drunk on duty, causing death - an involuntary manslaughter charge that will attract serious jail time. He wasn’t drunk, Victor was. With Keylan entering a guilty plea, it plays right into the hands of an old enemy, the corrupt Assistant Prosecutor, Dominic. It gives him a chance to bury Keylan ‘on the inside’. For Keylan, it means having to put his secret mission to bring Dominic down on embezzlement and multiple murder charges on hold, temporarily.
