Sandhi Smalls Santini is a Manhattan-based performer/playwright/author. She is the author of the sci-fi novel, SH+AGUAR, The Night Huntress (Vanguard Press/Pegasus Publishers); Edisto Island: Seaside Stories From A Geechee Gal; and playwright/performer of EARTHA–From Cotton To Caviar, an original one-woman play inspired by the life and times of entertainer and activist, Eartha Kitt. A native of Edisto Island, South Carolina, Sandhi (aka Sandra L. Smalls), received her BA in Journalism & Theatre Arts from Howard University, Washington, DC, with subsequent studies in human rights from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, NYC. She is a member of the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW); National Council of Negro Women (NCNW)—Life Member; Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAGAFTRA); Black Science Fiction Society (BSFS); Society For The Preservation of Theatrical History (SPTH); and the Harlem Tourism Board (HTB). Her writings have been published in The Howard University HILLTOP Newspaper; The Columbia University Newsletter of the Institute of African Studies; Class Magazine; The Charleston Chronicle Newspaper; and ROUTES MAGAZINE: A Guide To African American Culture.

Sandhi has performed EARTHA-From Cotton To Caviar to packed houses and wildly enthusiastic audiences in various Manhattan venues, including The Green Room 42, NYC, Broadway’s premier destination for live music and nightclub performances; Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC (“Stage Struck” Production); New Perspectives Theatre Company, NYC; several return engagements at Borough of Manhattan Community College (“Stage Struck” Production); Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Bar Restaurant & Lounge; and The Players (Stage Struck Showcase/4/28/16). Sandhi has headlined as a cabaret singer throughout Europe, the USA, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. Her singing residencies include the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (The Bamboo Bar), Bangkok, Thailand; Constance Lemuria, and Constance Ephelia, Seychelles, Africa. Other singing residencies include Hilton Hotels in Istanbul, Turkey; Munich and Dusseldorf, Germany; Vienna, Austria; and Budapest, Hungary, and other hotels and upscale venues. She has recorded with several indie Italian record labels.
