Peter was born in Ireland and came to America based on a misunderstanding. He thought "No Irish Need Apply" meant the Irish were all shoo-ins for jobs over here. His rude awakening inspired him to learn a trade, so he turned his hand to comedy writing.
Today Peter is a busy comedy writer and regularly provides comedy presentations at organizational culture conferences, including recent events in Florida, New Jersey and Washington State.
On the publications front, he's acted as Humor Columnist and a Contributing Editor for Employee Benefit News for over three years, contributed to the inaugural issue of Kiplinger's Success With Your Money, and his comedy writing has been featured in The Washington Post and Wealth Manager.
At Tri-state Bloomberg Radio (WBBR-AM 1130) he wrote and presented a weekly topical humor feature. Dispensing advice as "The Finance Ear," - which had a successful fifteen-month run.
Since 2003, Peter has been doing club stand-up in New York (Comic Strip Live, Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club) and has also taken his act to the West Coast. For the last dozen+ years he's also been an emcee, lyricist, joke writer and video-shorts executive producer for the New York Financial Writers' Financial Follies, a gala comedy event that began in the 1930s and draws over 1200 New York journalists and public relations professionals annually.
Peter's comedy writing is garnering increasing national attention. Since mid-2004 he has been named a winner or finalist in more sitcom spec contests than any other writer on the competition circuit. A The Simpsons he wrote, in which Homer becomes a financial planner was for several years the most award-winning sitcom spec - of all time! In addition, at one time the number 2 and number 3 most award-winning sitcom spec scripts on WinningScripts.com were also written by Peter.
His reputation for sharp comedy writing has also been fueled by profiles at MediaBistro.com, the Irish Voice and TheWritersPlace.org.
Nothing if not versatile, Peter recently illustrated a book for a McGraw-Hill author and has written humorous advertising copy for an international sleepwear company.
