ROME IN WHITE
The assassination of an American president begins in 300 AD in Rome and proceeds to 2011 Washington DC and then returns to Rome in 307 AD for the assassination, death of Severus II on a day it snowed on Italy and Rome is in white.
Synopsis
Severus II was made the Western Caesar in Rome when Galerius declared him so after the abdication of Maximian in 305 AD. Severus ruled half the civilized world but during that reign he made major enemies from the corruption of his government, the killing of the praetorian guard and the return to the practice of killing of Christians in the Coliseum.
The story drives forward to the point of Severus assassination and then the story moves instantly to Washington DC in 2011 where the story and the same cast follow a group who assassinate the President of the United States.
The Washington DC story follows a group who is attempting to change government corruption and also secure their freedom in the world by destroying the nuclear facility in North Korea who is threatening to use the device for their own gains. The Washington story also follows another group who also wants to assassinate the President because the National Health referendum of 2009 is going to break the bank and the backs of the poor Americans who are suffering from a huge tax rate and massive unemployment.
The story then returns to Rome in 307 AD where the assassination of Severus is finished on a day when it snows on Italy and Rome is in white. The elongated, epic style format of this film represents the length and breadth of corruption from governments who feel that there is always enough money to pay for the political arena of the day.
The screenplay takes place as a fantasy even though it talks about historic events that actually took place in Rome. Severus II is not the only corrupt Emperor in the Holy Roman Empire but he does represent a kind of corruption that seems almost identical with the corruption that we see in politics today.
Part of the corruption in Severus time period was in the Olympic Games, in money given to Senators for special treatment, in the huge tax burden that was mainly supported by the poor, slaves and servants and in the giving away of certain lands that were possessions of Rome in order to buy protection from the hordes of terrorists and thieves which lined the Roman Empire from Spain to Turkey and from Denmark to Africa.
This is an epic tale told in two time periods with the same cast and the same basic story line of political corruption which brings down the greatest political entity the world has ever seen, the Roman Empire.
