PINE MOUNTAIN DEVIL

When her small town's peaceful mountain preserve is threatened by a luxury resort, an eco-conscious park ranger must unravel the truth behind a series of brutal deaths that may be linked to an ancient, vengeful force tasked with protecting the land.

Kristen Hubert has loved Pine Mountain ever since she was a child roaming in its woods. Her one and only true love, Jefferson Randall, felt the same, and they bonded over their love of nature when they met at a bereavement camp for kids started by his wealthy mother, Blythe. When Jefferson died a few years later, his mother dedicated the land to conservation and started the Pine Mountain Preserve.

Kristen keeps Jefferson's memory alive by working as a ranger for the preserve, staying close to the mountain they both loved and his best friend, Bennett, now serving as a local police officer. After Blythe dies though, her surviving son Joshua claims back the land to break ground on a resort and spa, desecrating the area and its natural beauty.

In the process, an ancient creature charged with protecting the earth awakens—the Pine Mountain Devil. With an appetite for the flesh of anyone who messes with Mother Nature, bodies on the construction site begin piling up in the most undignified manner, reflecting their transgressions upon the planet.

Bennett and his female partner, Leoni, have no idea who--or what--is causing these gruesome deaths, but when Kristen pays a visit to the Paiute-Shoshone tribe's environmental director, she learns the legend of a centuries-old creature molded from the earth and tasked as its keeper.

Kristen feels a strange kinship with the creature, but when people close to her start to fall victim too, including her new love interest Leoni, she and Bennett lure the devil out of its lair for a final showdown. Kristen must decide whether to continue protecting the Devil in order to preserve the land she loves or kill it to save the people she loves.

SET PIECES: Pine Mountain Devil has limited locations, utilizing the natural beauty of nature against the stark devastation of the construction site and the carnage that its development incites the Devil to wreck upon those involved. Deaths are often handed out by the creature in correlation to the sin committed--for example, a Hummer driver's head winds up as its hood ornament; a smoker dies in a Port-A-Potty with a pack of cigarettes stuffed in his mouth.

While Pine Mountain Devil is a creature feature, it is character-driven, with love and loss at the heart of story, and a healthy dose of humor and sexual tension.
