The Surrogate
A pregnant teenager is abducted by a deranged man who wants her baby for himself and his disabled wife.
TERRA OWEN (17) discovers she is pregnant. Her best friend, BRITTANY WEBSTER (17), urges Terra to tell her boyfriend, MIKE, but Terra refuses and decides to get an abortion instead.
Kyle and his wife, CHLOE (35), wanted to have kids, but Chloe has brain damage and is no more than a child herself. Desperate for a child, Kyle hacks into a clinic's database and sees Terra's upcoming appointment. When Terra shows up at the clinic, she has second thoughts and leaves. However, Kyle runs her car off the road, kidnaps her and chains her up in a specially designed room in his house.
Terra offers Kyle money; he refuses. She tries to attack him; he punishes her by withholding her food. Terra manages to get a plastic knife and pretends to comply with Kyle. When Chloe opens the door, Kyle drags her away. Terra is horrified at Chloe's condition. Kyle tells Terra that Chloe's injuries were the result of a fall down the stairs. However, Kyle pushed Chloe down the stairs during an argument.
Using the plastic knife, Terra removes a sliver of wood from the boarded-up window and sees Kyle leaving. She convinces Chloe to open the door and pleads for the keys to the chain, but Kyle comes back unexpectedly. Later, Terra learns Chloe had an abortion and that Frank was her doctor.
OFFICER ARMSTRONG (30s) arrives at Kyle's house. A traffic camera recorded his license plate near where Frank was murdered. As the officer questions Kyle, Terra yells for help. Kyle shoots the officer and blames Terra for it.
Terra's period starts again. Realizing she was never pregnant, only late, she’s afraid she may lose the only leverage she has against Kyle. Terra frantically gets rid of her stained underwear down the toilet which overflows. Kyle notices a water spot in the downstairs ceiling and storms into the bathroom but can't find anything suspicious. Terra begs him to let her go home, but again he refuses.
When Kyle leaves to get rid of the police car, Chloe goes to Terra. Kyle drives the car into an abandoned reservoir, but the water is shallow, and the car comes to rest with his roof exposed. The trunk also pops open, and the officer’s body floats away.
Terra again asks Chloe to help her. Chloe starts talking normally to Terra, revealing she has recovered for a while but keeps pretending to be childlike because she is afraid that Kyle would try to hurt her again. Terra also admits she isn't pregnant. They then plan an escape.
Kyle returns in a fit of anger. A bitter fight between the three ensues with the women getting the upper hand but Kyle soon recovers. In the ensuing scuffle, Kyle and Chloe fall down the stairs and are killed.
Terra goes back to her old life, but her attitude is changed. She admits to Brittany that she should have talked to Mike and should take more time before jumping to conclusions.
Nancy talks to someone on a phone about Terra’s ordeal while deleting video of Terra in captivity. There is also a live feed of Terra’s bedroom. She finally deletes a picture of her and Kyle as teenagers insinuating Kyle was in fact Terra’s father and she was part of her own daughter’s abduction.
