The finalist or better placements include book, screen and stage play successes in Faulkner/Wisdom Creative Writing contest, Norumbego Fiction Award, Chesterfield, Writer's Network, Dana Awards, Frontiers in Writing, SFWP (Santa Fe), etc. Of these, Robert has won 28 contests and came in 2nd place in 21 others (e.g., Spirit Quest, Breckenridge, Telluride, Fade In Magazine, Garden State Film Festival, etc.) His short play was produced at the BaCCA Performing Arts Center at a One Act Festival on Long Island, and his longer stage plays won a reading series at Abingdon Theatre in NYC and Ohio State University and, when his writing buddy joined the mix (Drew Keil - see below), "Going Solo" won the stage play category in the London Film Awards, the Chicago Screenplay Contest, and American Movie Awards. Four of his scripts appear on the moviebytes.com ‘top ten’ listings 9 times, and he has the winningest stage play on that same site. He taught screenwriting 101 at the local community college and was one of the Temple University judges for the Freese Award screenwriting competition. Drew Keil’s short bio: For the last thirty years, as an actor, director and playwright, Drew has frequented Long Island’s, community and regional stages, most notably with Hofstra USA Productions. His acting credits culminate with his Antonio Salieri role in Amadeus and his radio role of Jack Kerouac in Jack’s Last Call. His professional stage and screen career has featured a kiss from Susan Lucci back in the 70’s; a pillow fight with George C. Scott; a commercial with Luciano Pavarotti; a performance of Julius Caesar with Brian Dennehy); a drama class with Kevin Bacon; and a handshake with John Lennon. He’s a produced playwright (Heaven Sent) at Hofstra University.
