Author Bio: Ryan LaPlante is a multiple award-winning Filmmaker and Screenwriter. His debut feature, HOLY HELL, has screened across the US festival circuit and has been awarded “#1 Horror/Comedy Feature” at the 20th Annual Indie Gathering, “Best Comedy Feature” at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, and received the “Roger & Julie Corman Award for Excellence in Exploitation and Drive-In Filmmaking” at the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival. HOLY HELL is continuing to screen at a variety of festivals throughout the year 2016.

Ryan’s screenplays have also had success on the festival circuit. In 2015 his found-footage horror feature script, THE PATH, was an official selection at Shriekfest, The Mile High Horror Fest, The NOLA - New Orleans Horror Film Festival, the Haunted Horror International Film Festival and was a preliminary finalist at the Creative World Awards.

Ryan’s revenge thriller screenplay, ZERO SUM GAME, was a finalist at the Creative World Awards, an official selection at the Action on Film Festival where it was nominated for "Best Action Sequence Short or Feature", and was awarded “Best Unproduced Screenplay” at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival. Ryan’s dirty-cop thriller, COPS & KINGS, was an official selection at the Action on Film Festival where it was nominated for "Best Crime Drama".

An actor as well as a screenwriter & director, Ryan has a degree from Queen’s University and is a graduate of the Second City Training Centre’s Improv Conservatory. He’s performed on television, making appearances on THE ODD SQUAD and EXTREME BABYSITTING, and in feature films including GONE TOMORROW and the upcoming COUNTRY CRUSH.
