A graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Gered Beeby started his career as a nuclear submarine officer. Now retired from engineering and construction management, he is also a retired Captain in the Naval Reserve.
Gered is Past President (2003) of the San Diego Writers/Editors Guild and remains a member of the Board. He also serves as a reviewer for the San Diego Book Awards.
"Dark Option" is an adaptation of Gered's novel of industrial espionage published in 2002. The novel was nominated for a Publisher's Marketing Association (PMA) Benjamin Franklin Award in the category "Best New Voice - Fiction" in 2003.
Active in government affairs, Gered served on the San Diego County Grand Jury as Foreman Pro Tem for the now completed 2011/2012 term. His writing includes a new screenplay, a short story collection, and his memoirs. He lives with his wife Myrna in Encinitas, CA.
