Zoe Ohrbach and Brian Snyder are Silicon Valley techies struggling through a pandemic of a new variant of Mad Cow affecting deer, moose, elk, etc. Despite warnings, people continue hunting and eating toxic venison. It was only a matter of time before the disease jumped to humans—a zoonotic “spillover.” Like all prion diseases, it is incurable, untreatable and unpreventable.
