Shore Scripts Screenwriting Competition is focused on finding the best scripts from around the world and getting them into the hands of the producers and production companies who have the ability to get them made.

We have a strong relationship with the production companies signed up to read the years best scripts. These scripts do not necessarily need to be winning scripts. If we feel a script is suited to a companies slate, we will send it on. This will always be with the writers prior consent, and can be at any point during and after the competition.

Rules

Feature Rules
  • To help the environment, Shore Scripts only accepts electronic entries.
  • Writers from all countries are welcome to enter the Shore Scripts Screenwriting Competition. All scripts must be in English.
  • The script must be the writers original work. They must own all copyright. At no point will Shore Scripts ever have any rights over your work.
  • All ages are welcome.
  • Each writer, or writing team, may not have earned more than $30,000 (£24,000 approx) in screenwriting fees since 2010. Previous screenwriting cash awards do not count towards this total.
  • You may enter a newer draft of an already submitted script. There is a small additional fee. You may re-enter you script through the Resubmission page on the Shore Scripts website.
  • If a script is optioned or purchased during the competition, then that script will no longer be eligible for the awards. The entry fee will not be refunded.
  • Scripts should be formatted at size 12 Courier.
  • The script file formats we accept for upload are: .PDF (preferred) Final Draft, MovieMagic, .RTF, .DOC, .TXT
  • Please ensure your script is as close to the standard 80-120 pages as possible. See below in regards to the Short Competition. If you have any questions about the length of your script, please email us. contact@shorescripts.com
  • We accept all genres.
  • The winners agree to allow Shore Scripts to use their name and script title on the website. This will be used to inform other contestants and the media of the results.
  • The decision of the judging panel is final. All judges and sponsors are immune from any competition disputes.
  • If we see fit, we can extend the final deadline of the competition.
  • By entering Shore Scripts Screenwriting Competition, you authorize us to use any trusted third-party online and cloud-based services and databases for hosting, managing, and/or transmitting your submission file(s).
ADDITIONAL SHORT SCRIPT SUBMISSION RULES
  • Scripts must be within 2-30 Pages.

ADDITIONAL TV PILOT SUBMISSION RULES
  • Script must be within 15-70 Pages.
  • Please only enter the first episode of your TV Pilot.
