THE REDEEMER

A God-Fearing Navy SEAL Platoon Chief is forced to confront his murderous past while on a treacherous rescue mission in the Middle East.

Navy SEAL Platoon Chief Denzel Pryor leads his two Latino cohorts, Juanito and Reyes, on a five day mission on foot to rescue POW Fryhofer, who has been captured by Yaaseen and his band of Islamic insurgents. While in route to their destination, circumstances change for the SEALS, where two of the supposedly loyal SEALS turn unexpectantly on the other. This unfortunate and drastic circumstance eventually leading all three of the SEALS to being apprehended by Yaaseen and his men and brought back to their village, and then held captive with POW Fryhofer. Their time in captivity is spent enduring Yasseen's physical torturing hardships while learning of the villagers struggles, and lastly revealing the SEALS past decisions, including POW Fryhofer, that caused each of them to be in their current dire predicament. While in captivity Juanito and Reyes also reveal the SEAL platoon's true mission to an unaware Denzel. Each of the SEALS by story end are taught the value of forgiveness and how that specific word, if practiced before turning on each other, could have kept the entirety of their current situation from happening in the first place. The SEALS can only hope of escaping or being rescued by the remaining SEAL Platoon, who is in fact aware of their unfortunate and drastic plight.

I have done a considerable amount of writing in relation to Feature screenplays & shorts for that matter. I enjoy the methodical appraoch to screenplay writing to produce the best work possible - from noodling the idea with note taking, to eventually crafting a 10 page +/- outline that thoroughly brings about the 3-act structure, the unique characters and their goals and arcs, to exhibiting true conflict & obstacles, that eventually lead to I hope a satisfying conclusion.
