ABRAHAM VAN HELSING AND THE HUNT FOR JACK THE RIPPER

In this prequel to Dracula, Francis Tumblety a.k.a. Jack the Ripper kills Dr. Abraham Van Helsing’s son, steals his post-mortem knives and uses them to kill five prostitutes in 1888 Whitechapel, London. Now Van Helsing lives for one thing - to hunt down Jack the Ripper.

In the early 1800's young Abraham Van Helsing and his parents are beset by tragedy while exploring Lake Hermannstadt in the mysterious Carpathian Mountains. His parents are killed in a lightning strike. But young Van Helsing, also struck by lightning, begins to babble in tongues and is imbued with the Stigmata. Taken to the Monastery of the White Monks, he is immersed in contemplation and religion. He becomes a brilliant doctor, surgeon, and philosopher, growing into manhood. His wife goes mad after having a vision that their son Peter has died. Later her vision comes true as Peter is brutally murdered with his father's post-mortem knife by Francis Tumbelty, who would become the infamous fiend Jack the Ripper.

Now Van Helsing, in his grief and rage, tracks Jack the Ripper to 1888 Whitechapel, London, in an attempt to stop his murderous rampage. For this, he enlists the help of his star medical pupil and friend, Doctor John Seward, who would aid him in his hunt for Count Dracula several years later.
