Synopsis

An aloof hacker genius must find out who’s behind a series of threats to influence a senator’s gun legislation vote before he and his family are put in danger. Her boss, Elton Millia, of Millia Security, a private investigating and firewall network security company, is contacted by Senator Nick Dema. The Senator is receiving encrypted email threats from an extremist group, who is trying to sway his vote on an upcoming gun rights bill. He contacts L and brings her into the office to meet the Senator. Once she hears that the Senator is receiving encrypted email threats and hacking is involved, she gets very interested in the job and accepts the Challenge. After leaving the Senator, she goes back to her house in Sausalito, and digs into the code, where she finds information that’s hidden inside the email. Now she decides to involve her friend, former lover and FBI agent James Erskine. James brings a certain type of mindset into the game which L plays off of. Hence the game begins. L’s elusive mannerism and intelligence intrigues James, and he is anxious to get involved with her again. James meet up with L at her beach house. She brings James up to date. Then they head to The Castro District to check on a person of interest. Within a few minutes of surveillance a van pulls up and two men get out, go inside the apartment and quickly come back out, then head toward the senators house. L and James follow. As the van drives by the senators house they take photographs. They quickly speed away and whip-around the corner. L follows, but as they turn the corner, the two men are standing outside the car and start shooting at them. L quickly escapes the gunfire. Circles back, then pays the Senator a visit. Once inside, using the Senator’s computer, she access the hackers email and plants a turn around trap inside the email. Now, from her computer she can watch and track the hackers. Leader of extremist group, the Sentinels, Kily(43) waits for his members to converge at their remote cabin in the woods along with co-founder Billy (39) and expert hacker Betsy (34). When the two from the van arrive, Kily announces that they are ready for the next stage of their plan. They send another email to Dema ,but L’s tracking it. The next hack comes in and L follows it to a place in-between Los Angeles and San Francisco. She informs Erskine of her find, he brings in Martinez and his partner Judd Mann. They find the location, using the FBI’s CCT camera network. But once they locate the house, it’s too late, the extremists have already moved to a new location, in Half Moon Bay. It doesn’t take long for L track they’re next location. Martinez, Mann and Erskine send a team of agents to the location to surveil and report back.The team follows them to a library in Pacifica, L disables the Internet, and Erskine, Martinez and Mann rush in and arrest the culprits. At the same time the remaining extremists make a bold move and escape the FBI stakeout. They make a run vowing to get vengeance as they go to San Diego to hide out. Meantime L delivers a decisive blow to a remaining member of the extremist group. She leads Martinez, Mann and Erskine to his location and they arrest him.
