Karamazov

The three sons of an influential but corrupt businessman struggle to find their place in a world gone mad. Expanded: Karamazov is a modern day re-imagining of 'The Brothers Karamazov' by Dostoyevsky. Central to the story are the three opposing Karamazov brothers - Ivan, Ali and Dmitri - and their turbulent relationship with their charismatic, yet dominant father. Fyodor Karamazov has problems in abundance with modernising inner city estates, questions surrounding his successful dealings with the local authority and an heir, Dmitri, burdened by grudges and gambling debts with some very shady characters. At the core of both the book and this adaptation is the theme of corruption and how it manifests itself in the lives of the characters. Thematically, the series also explores the younger generation's desire to define themselves independently of their parents/elders. Conflict arises from this battle between generations for control.
