Today (22 April 2025), I feel satisfied with my 13 screenplays and one pilot— surely that should be enough for any one person?. However, I love creating emotional worlds. I am currently, but sporadically, working on completing another screenplay but I may have fallen for the trap of making it too complex, resulting in the project becoming unmanageable for me. It's provisonally called Starry Stone Island, a story about the discovery of rocks that give out 10 times more energy than they take in from the sun.

I am currently, but sporadically, working on completing another screenplay but I may have fallen for the trap of making it too complex, resulting in the project becoming unmanageable for me. It's provisonally called Starry Stone Island, a story about the discovery of rocks that give out 10 times more energy than they take in from the sun. It centres on a demoralised detective and his daughter, who is nearing a state of anorexia, on a holiday on the tourist section of the island. Murders happen and it's the daughter who guides her father to solving the murders. What became unmanageable for me was the inclusion of a sub-story that rocks came from an alien spaceship that crashed into the island. Trying to weave an alien into an already complex story was an over-reach for me. By excluding the alien character, I've found I can move the story forward.

MY STORY AS A SCREENWRITER

I became a hobbyist screenwriter in 2007 when I purchased version 7 of Final Draft. I’ve since completed 13 screenplays and one pilot for TV or for a streaming service.

I have completed 14 scripts (13 screenplays and one pilot).
