Character Description: Eo is a young girl who loses her entire family when they are evacuated to the US on April 30, 1975. Bright and beautiful, she works hard to survive a lonely and difficult life. Misfortune seems to follow her everywhere as she struggles to secure a better future by leaving Vietnam. Logline: Despite her intelligence, beauty, and success in raising her children to be accomplished, Eo's years in America were marked by severe personal struggles. Behind the facade of her achievements, she grappled with PTSD and MD, endured the abuse of a domineering husband, faced the disrespect of her children, and suffered the harsh judgment of a strict Catholic family. Time and again, they pushed her to the brink of suicide. Her life, filled with countless tears, now feels like a story she must sell to find release and justice from the Holy See.
