Brambles
Lord Bramborough -Brambles - is a seventy-year-old peer whose family estate and fortune have long since disappeared. He has a seat in the House of Lords and attends whenever he can as the attendance allowance of one pound seven shillings and sixpence per session is his only income. Brambles is known to have been something of a 'spycatcher' in the great war and is often called upon by his considerable circle of friends to do a little sleuthing whenever there is a misdemeanour, a mystery, or even a murder to be solved.
