Objective

The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition was established in the fall of 2003 by an alliance of Hollywood producers, agents, and development execs. Our goal: to discover the most exciting new scripts by up-and-coming writers from across the country and around the world.

As a result of winning the contest, many dozens of PAGE Award winners have signed with top Hollywood agents and managers, optioned and sold their winning scripts, and seen their movies and television shows produced, and the PAGE Awards competition is now widely recognized as one of the industry's top sources for new screenwriting talent, both within the Hollywood community and internationally.

One of the most frustrating things about so many screenwriting contests - both for the writers and for the judges - is that scripts of different genres are in competition with each other. Show More

Contest News

PAGE Award Winners Launch Careers in the Industry

Now in its 7th anniversary year, the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition continues its track record of success: discovering and promoting some of the most talented new screenwriters from across the country and around the world. Since receiving their prizes, many PAGE Award winners have gone on to land writing assignments, secure representation, and sign option agreements on their winning scripts, and several now have movies in various stages of production and release. In the latest news:

  • Radar Pictures is now attached to produce and finance Mark Kratter's 2009 PAGE Silver Prize winning script ENDANGERED. Mark is also currently in negotiations to adapt a graphic novel.
  • 2009 Bronze Prize winner Sean Mick has been signed by Mark and Erick Williams of Zero Gravity Management. Sean's Bronze Prize-winning action script RESURRECTION RUN and his 2005 Gold Prize-winning script SILENCER are both in development.
  • Fawaz Al-Matrouk is now in production on his 2009 Silver Prize-winning short film TO REST IN PEACE. Fawaz will be flying to Kuwait to shoot footage for the project later this month.
  • 2009 Silver Prize winner Alex Hollister has been signed by Jeff Belkin at Foremost Films.
  • 2008 Gold Prize winner Nancy Noever and 2008 Silver Prize winner Robert Arnett have both been signed by Leslie Rabb at RPM International.
  • 2006 Grand Prize winner Scott LaCagnin has been signed by PAGE Judge Mike Kuciak at Samurai MK.
  • Adam Balsam's 2005 PAGE Silver Prize-winning sitcom pilot "Present Tense" has been optioned by James Brown. Adam was also recently hired by Alpine Pictures to do a rewrite on the animated feature DOROTHY OF OZ, voiced by Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, and Martin Short.
  • 2005 Bronze Prize winner Dylan Costello was commissioned to write a documentary about climate change which is being screened for world leaders at the Copenhagen summit this week.
  • 2005 Silver Prize winner Janet Lin is now a story editor on the FOX TV series "Bones." Janet's most recent episode "The Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" aired October 8th.
Entries are now being accepted in the 2010 PAGE Awards competition. In October of 2010, the PAGE Judges will once again be presenting a total of 31 Awards in ten different genre categories. The winning screenwriters will receive cash and prizes totaling over $50,000 - including our huge $25,000 Grand Prize - as well as extensive publicity and industry exposure for their winning scripts.

Most importantly, the PAGE Awards competition is judged entirely by working professionals in the film and television industry, so all contestants have the opportunity to get their scripts into the hands of Hollywood insiders currently in search of new talent.
