Objective

The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition was established in the fall of 2003 by an alliance of Hollywood producers, agents, and development execs. Our goal: to discover the most exciting new scripts by up-and-coming writers from across the country and around the world.

As a result of winning the contest, many dozens of PAGE Award winners have signed with top Hollywood agents and managers, optioned and sold their winning scripts, and seen their movies and television shows produced, and the PAGE Awards competition is now widely recognized as one of the industry's top sources for new screenwriting talent, both within the Hollywood community and internationally.

One of the most frustrating things about so many screenwriting contests - both for the writers and for the judges - is that scripts of different genres are in competition with each other. Show More

Contest News

PAGE Award Winners in Production

The PAGE International Screenwriting Awards have rapidly become one of the most important sources for new screenwriting talent within the Hollywood community and worldwide. Since receiving their awards, many of the contest’s winning writers have landed writing assignments, secured representation, and signed option agreements on their winning scripts, and several PAGE Award winners now have scripts in various stages of production.

Among the most recent success stories:

Through a recommendation from the PAGE Awards administrators, Larry Postel sold his 2005 Grand Prize-winning family film X-MAS FILES to an animation firm in India. He has just completed a rewrite for the producers. In addition, soon after the 2005 Awards were announced, Larry was hired to write two scripts for Vancouver producer Andrew Van Slee, and his frat comedy NAPOLEON – CONQUER THE WORLD is now in pre-production.

The horror flick LEFT IN DARKNESS, written by 2005 Bronze Prize winner Philip Daay, aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in November and is now out on DVD. Philip has also sold an option on his second horror script to Eduardo Sanchez, Greg Hale and Matt Compton, three of the creators of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.

Mauriel Joslyn has co-produced her 2006 Silver Prize winning short film MY CHRISTMAS SOLDIER with producer/director Owen Smith (of the SUGAR CREEK GANG series). The DVD is now on sale at LifeWay and Family Christian stores, as well as online at www.MyChristmasSoldier.com.

After reading Christian Parkes’ 2006 Silver Prize winning action script THE GOD BRINGER, Jeff Belkin of Foremost Films signed Christian as a client and they are now in the process of developing the project.

Through a recommendation from one of the PAGE Awards judges, 2006 Gold Prize winner David Bertoni was signed by L.A. management firm AEI. David writes:

“Let me be blunt: I've won other contests. PAGE has, by far, generated the most requests for my script. Unbelievably so. Including people who never responded to query letters for the same script. A few weeks after the awards were announced I had several companies who wanted to represent me, which, while an enviable position, presents a set of new questions and concerns that I never believed I'd face. But I’m now happily working with my new managers, Atchity Entertainment International.”

The PAGE Awards producers and judges are very pleased to announce that they are now accepting entries in the fourth annual PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition. The 2007 contest will once again present over $25,000 in cash and prizes to screenwriters in nine different categories, as well as extensive publicity and industry exposure for the winners.
