Objective
The fellowship program was developed to honor dedicated writers and to help further their creative process and skills. Writing in itself is a journey and we would like to facilitate the process by giving the fellows the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded professionals and individuals.
Application Requirements:
- Completed application and fee.
- Your screenplay or pilot emailed to us in PDF format.
- Applicant must answer the following essay question: Why are you interested in this fellowship and what do you hope to gain from it? (1 page maximum)
Deadline/Entry Fees
Expired. Previous Deadline: 10/07/2024Notification: We announce the top 20 Fellows on October 21, 2024. We announce the Scriptapalooza Fellowship Recipient on November 4, 2024.
Rules
- You must be 18 or older to apply.
- Your script must be in English. All genres are accepted.
- We accept feature film screenplays and pilots.
- Your script must be in PDF format.
- This is an international Fellowship, we do accept scripts from around the world.
- All submitted material must be original, and all rights must be wholly owned by the writer(s).
- We recommend you register your script with the WGA or the US Copyright Office.
- We do accept writing teams. If a team wins the Fellowship, one (1) prize is awarded.
- Your script cannot be under an option when submitting.
- Once you submit your script, we do not accept revisions or replacements.
- You may submit more than one entry, but they must be submitted separately with their own application and fee.
- If your script becomes optioned, sold or produced during the timeframe of the fellowship, your entry will be disqualified.
- Adaptations are eligible if the work is in public domain or writer has the rights to it.
- All entries are non-refundable.
- Any candidate who does not meet the aforementioned criteria will be disqualified.
Awards
What Fellows Receive:
The 2025 Scriptapalooza Fellowship recipient will receive:
- Attend an online Robert McKee Story Seminar.
- We will offer advice, guidance and direction on your script.
- 6 month mentorship with Scriptapalooza mentor.
- Access to over 90 producers thru Scriptapalooza's network.

Scriptapalooza Names Fellowship Winner
Lyn Pinezich has been named the Scriptapalooza Fellowship winner for her script Julie and Romeo, and will attend a Robert McKee STORY Seminar (hotel and airfare included).
In addition, Scriptapalooza has named five writers who will be mentored:
