CWA is a leading international screenwriting contest known for having the writer’s interest at heart when it comes to development and industry promotion. The CWA vision is to help writers garner the exposure, development, and recognition they need to propel their projects and careers forward.
CWA winning screenplays are circulated to top agencies, film studios, managers, producers, and international financers looking for their next project or writer. Additionally, CWA works with the prominent companies; all of which get first looks at our top winners.

Special thanks to the CWA sponsors for helping line up a fantastic prize package worth over $30,000 in cash and prizes, including the opportunity for the Grand Prize Winner to receive a production award with imdb credit.
CWA is known for placing special emphasis on ways to bring writers more opportunities for publicity and production. In conjunction with The Moving Image Xchange and Richmond International Film Festival, CWA offers the Grand Prize Winner the opportunity to have a short version of their winning script produced. The film gets a guaranteed premiere at the Richmond International Film Festival, which gives the writer official imdb credit, festival entry, and more.
Additionally, for the short screenplay category winner, should the winner get the script produced, that film will also be awarded as Official Selection into the Richmond International Film Festival, and get a guaranteed premiere. CWA awards many prizes across several categories for features, shorts, and television, so please see the website for a complete listing.
The annual Creative World Awards is more than a competition; it's a platform to further refine your work, develop your craft, and get your foot in the door.

CWA Announces New Q & A
CWA has posted a new spotlight Q & A featuring an interview with actor-writer-director, David Hayter. David Hayter is best known as the voice for Solid Snake and later Big Boss in the popular Metal Gear video game series, and most recently for writing the screenplays for X2, X-MEN, THE SCORPION KING, and the upcoming film, WATCHMEN.
Also posted is a spotlight video interview with Tomas Jegeus, Co-President of 20th Century Fox International. Jegeus handles and overseas the international releases of all Fox's titles including KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH, MR. AND MRS. SMITH, ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, etc, etc.
A new video will be posted this Friday featuring Scott Wiper. Wiper started his career at Wesleyan University where his thesis film won the prestigious Frank Capra Prize for Best Student Film. From there he went on to write and direct his first feature, CAPTAIN JACK. In 2000, he followed up with A BETTER WAY TO DIE, which was acquired by Sony Screen Gems and HBO.
Wiper has written scripts for many of Hollywood's top producers such as Joel Silver, Walter Hill and John Woo. He recently wrote two scripts for Warner Bros: SALVATION for veteran director Walter Hill and Silver Pictures and SALVAGED LIVES for Outlaw Productions. On Wiper's last project, he co-wrote and directed the action thriller, THE CONDEMNED, starring WWE's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The film was released theatrically through Lions Gate in 2007. Up next is the action/thriller, THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY, which he also co-wrote and will direct for Intrepid Pictures.
