Eligibility
Any human writerRules
- Pick an existing kids animated show
- Write an 11-minute spec script
- Make sure it includes a series regular meaningfully interacting with an explicitly autistic character
- Write a log line for your script, a one paragraph summary of your script, and a breakdown (brief character description) of your explicitly autistic character(s)
- Donate the submission fee at TheAutismScene.org/AuSPEC
- Submit your script at TheAutismScene.org/AuSPEC between December 1, 2025 and January 31, 2026
- Feel great!
Awards
There will be a $5,000 grand prize. Category winners will get meetings with animation executives, showrunners or literary reps, and an invitation to the AuSPEC AWARDS ceremony on April 2, 2026 in Burbank, CA, with a chance to rub elbows with animation industry luminaries. Awards categories include:

- Kindest script
- Best sci-fi script
- Best adventure script
- Best educational script
- Best nonspeaking/nonverbal character

- Best script by unrepresented writer
