Whether your dream is to sign a contract, land an agent, learn from an industry icon, or take home the coveted Bronze Typewriter Award, it’s simple: you can’t win if you don’t enter.

Josephson Entertainment Screenwriting Fellowship
This opportunity will provide a one-on-one mentorship in Los Angeles for two fellows – one writer or writing team with a feature script and one writer or writing team with a teleplay pilot – selected from the Final Round of this year’s competition. Show More

Austin Fest Presents Launching Your Film Career Panel Discussion

Three of the most prestigious organizations centered around championing the screenwriter have partnered to present Launching Your Writing Career, a special panel sponsored in part and hosted by the Los Angeles Film School on Saturday, March 30th from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Austin Film Festival's Screenplay Director, Matt Dy, the Director of the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting, Greg Beal, and the founder of The Black List, Franklin Leonard, will disclose how these organizations have yielded countless success stories and how writing competitions are progressively becoming the most lucrative venue to break into the industry. Also included in the panel discussion are Jason Micallef, 2008 Nicholl Fellow for "Butter" which also made The Black List the same year and was produced by The Weinstein Company and De Luca Productions in 2011, and Julie Howe, 2010 AFF Comedy Screenplay Winner for "Jasper Milliken" which is currently in development with Sony-based Zhiv Productions. Led by moderator Daniel Petrie, Jr (Oscar® nominated screenwriter and 2013 Morgan Cox WGAW Award recipient), panelists will discuss how aspiring writers can take their script to the next level. Tickets to the event are now on sale for $10. Click here for more information or to purchase tickets.
