A KISS

An amorous young man steals a kiss from a beautiful young woman tourist who is having lunch with friends; this leads to anger, a canceled trip home, an attempted arrest, and her taking him before a judge.

Three young businesswomen, Molly Shannon, Ella Cantu, and Ava Featheringham, vacationed from their busy lives in San Francisco and spent a weekend in Victoria, Canada. While eating in a popular restaurant, a young man, Logan Tremblay, steps over to their table and kisses the beautiful Ava. She’s shocked and angered. She stares at him, and he quickly leaves the restaurant. The woman is about to leave the Island and board a plane when Ava decides to stay. She takes a taxi cab back to Victoria to locate the insubordinate man. Ava locates eating in a local pub. Running outside into the street, she sees a foot policeman, Officer MacArthur. Returning to the pub, she orders the officer to arrest the young man for accosting her. Officer Mac Authur understands Logan and resists, saying he doesn’t wish to take both of them to jail. Upset and confused, Ava doesn’t know why she would need to go to jail. It’s explained to her that she’d need to sit in a jail cell while they investigate and do all the paperwork. Logan agrees and says it would be better to go directly to a judge; the officer agrees. Again, Ava is confused as the offer releases her to Logan's custody, who will take her to a judge to mitigate the case. Logan drives to the judge’s home; Ava resists going inside until Logan explains that he often works from home. The friendly Judge Tremblay meets them at the door and escorts Ava to his office to hear her part of the story. Telling her that it may take him a day or two to decide and that he doesn’t wish to inconvenience her, he offers her to be his guest, and Ava accepts. Ava freshens up in her room and comes downstairs; she tells the judge she’d like to return to town to purchase a few items she needs. He, of course, agrees and tells Logan to take her. Before they leave, the judge takes his son, Logan, aside and instructs him to take her to a nice restaurant for dinner. They leave, and Ava tells Logan she wishes to shop at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, where she and her friends had stayed. Entering the women’s clothing store Collections By the 5th, Ava begins shopping for a few things. Logan waits for over two hours. Frustrated, Logan dives into Finn’s restaurant on Wharf Street. They’re seated at a white tableclothed table, and Logan orders a fine bottle of wine and then dinner. After eating and drinking, Ava asks Logan if they could drive through one of the city’s lovely parks. They do, and while driving, Ava asks Logan to pull over and stop. They stop, and she admits to Logan that she likes the kiss and wants him to kiss her again to see if she does like it. After the kiss, Ava tells him she wants to return to his father’s house. Surprised that she knew he stared at her. Ava tells him she surmises it, and Monroe confirms it. Upon arriving, Monroe informs Ava that her packages from Collections By 5th have arrived and are in her bedroom. She thanked him, told Logan good night, and ran up the stairs. The following morning, Judge Tremblay and Logan have breakfast in the dining room. Ava is not there. The judge asks Monroe to get her, and Monroe tells the judge that Ava said she was dressing. Perplexed, the judge tells Monroe to go and invite her down again. Monroe leaves and is shocked as he sees Ava coming down the stairway. When Ava enters the dining room, the two men’s jaws drop as they stand. Ava is wearing a white fit and flare “mermaid” wedding gown. Judge Tremblay wants to know what it’s all about. Ava tells him she wants to marry his son, Logan. The judge says, “You do?” Ava answers, “I do.” He looks at his son, who says, “They to hold hands,” and mutters a few words. He informs them that since they’d already said I do, they are now man and wife. He tells Logan to kiss his bride. They embrace and kiss.
