Searching for her estranged sister, FBI Agent November Knight reluctantly joins an Elite Team, A.R.M.S., (Advanced Research in Marine Science), to prevent one of their rogue members from creating a new race of underwater breathing humans, called Manphibians, only to discover that she becomes the catalyst.
20 years ago, a car with a woman, her son and infant daughter ends up in the Hudson River.
6 months ago Billionaire AVERY JACOBS, in charge of an elite team, called Advanced Research in Marine Science (A.R.M.S.), an acronym that becomes controversial with the "M" possibly meaning Mutant.
Avery Jacobs, along with his five person security team, GAMMA/X from France, JAGUAR from Germany/South America, SEA-WOLFE from Great Britain, AIMEE from Japan and ADAPTOR from USA, acquire an artifact in Antarctica, via MANDY DANDELION'S map from her collection of artifacts aboard her Yacht.
FBI Agent NOVEMBER KNIGHT, conducts an off duty sweep of crime ridden areas of New York City, in search of her missing sister, JUNE. Knight confronts a gang and eventually, they are all abducted by Adaptor, who went rogue from the A.R.M.S. team. After Adaptor explains to Knight, his plans of creating new race of under water breathing humans, called Manphibians, to prevent people the suffering of drowning, Mandy intervenes.
A.R.M.S. learns of a way to locate the artifact from Antarctica, and fight Adaptor after he has already created more Manphibians and changed Mandy into a Manphibian. Sea-Wolfe, first to arrive, trying to prevent Adaptor from changing Knight, is also changed by Adaptor. As the rest of the team move in, the artifact is cracked open, first, spraying an unkown liquid over Knight, then, explodes and implodes, releasing a high pitch beam of light throughout Adaptor's secret lab, eventually affecting Adaptor and the entire A.R.M.S. team. The glass partition separating the lab from the ocean breaks open as does the cylindrical containers full of Manphibians. Before the safeguard wall replaces the glass partition, Adaptor, Mandy, Sea-Wolfe, and a hand full of Manphibians are pulled into the ocean.
Knight, now code named POWER-KNIGHT, wakes up in the A.R.M.S. infirmary, completely hairless and coated with a powerful, silver-blue skin. She reluctantly joins A.R.M.S. and after several attempts at stopping Adaptor, she discovers that she is now the catalyst to complete his plans. Adaptor is then revealed to be ADRIAN JACOBS, Avery's son, causing Knight to quit the team. Gamma/X finds her and they both, along with her FBI partner, BRYANT, try to find Adaptor.
Knight and Gamma/X find Mandy's yacht and eventually, Knight, is forced into helping Adaptor. Adaptor uses the yacht and, in the Atalntic Ocean, he constructs a seven foot missile that has five mini-missiles attached on the outer hull. Knight is coerced inside the missile and Adaptor releases the main missile as A.R.M.S. and the FBI find him. The five mini-missiles are released in separate directions. two mini-missiles are shot down by Aimee and Jaguar, but the other three spray a mist of Adaptor's formula over populated areas of Spain, Africa and South America, infecting thousands of unsuspecting people. Mandy pulls Adaptor into the Ocean, where they both fight, deep underwater, until both appear dead.
Knight remains on the main missile that Gamma/X rerouted to Antarctica. Adaptor survives Mandy's attack.
Two weeks later, the A.R.M.S. team finds Knight in Antarctica. Gamma/X explains that things are bad and, even worse, that they located her Sister.
