Screenwriter Interviews
MovieBytes Interview:
Screenwriter nick vigorito
An interview with screenwriter nick vigorito regarding the Scriptapalooza TV Writing Competition.
Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?A: "LES IS MORE" - (ORIGINAL SITCOM PILOT)...
A recently retired schoolteacher finds herself the reluctant owner of a small talent agency of misfits when her estranged ex-husband dies and wills it to her - - - as punishment for their marriage!!!
A: Name recognition. Entered no other contests with this particular script.
Q: Were you satisfied with the adminstration of the contest? Did they meet their deadlines? Did you receive all the awards that were promised?A: Yes, they met their deadlines, and I received the cash award as promised.
Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?A: No feedback - no news regarding any producers, etc. that they supposedly market the script to.
Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?A: Yes, but not as a direct result of the contest - or due to the contest administrators. After winning Scriptapalooza I myself did a huge mass mailing touting the win and I've had about thirty (30) or so requests to read the pilot - most of them are still 'out there' - and the few production companies that read it already were very positive with their comments.
Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?A: I've written six sitcom pilots and a couple of 'spec' sitcom scripts. I've also written over twenty plays - two of which are published. All my work is in comedy.
Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?A: I live in New York but I'm contemplating the move to L.A.
Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?A: I'm ALWAYS working on a new script!!!
