Originally from Australia, Kate holds degrees in Education, Counseling, and an MFA in Directing. Kate is a freelance theatre professional who has worked professionally in all aspects of theatre for over 40 years – including acting, directing, producing, writing, management and arts in healthcare. Prior to moving to Sedona, she taught in the theatre department of a liberal arts college for 18 years, founded an arts in healthcare company focusing on storytelling and performance, and was Artistic Associate at a professional theatre company in Oregon where she also developed a successful outreach program.

Kate is co-founder/Producing Artistic Director of Red Earth Theatre (with whom she produces monthly shows at Tlaquepaque as well as directing many productions over the last 8 years.

A playwright, her work includes Loplop and the Queen about Surrealist artists Max` Ernst and Dorothea Tanning; the award-winning Sky…Diamonds, exploring a family’s experience of Alzheimer’s; and Ungodly Behavior, a retelling of the Demeter/Persephone story; and in development, Walking On The Wings of Butterflies. She developed Performing Wellness ™ , is the author of Personal Magic- Conscious Empowerment Through Creativity & Spirit and offers workshops tailored for individuals or groups. She regularly facilitates arts workshops for veterans at the VA.

Kate has an unerring instinct and decades of experience in using the performing arts to bring people together in ways that surprise, delight and empower, inspiring community and building bridges.

Balancing all this creative endeavor is her passion for the outdoors. She provides opportunity for individuals to find balance and healing through facilitated interaction with her horses. A trail runner, the bounty of the red rocks of Sedona help keep her grounded, her mind clear and spirit high.
