Objective

WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE STRONGEST VOICES IN SCREENWRITING.

We believe in the power of YOUR voice.

The stories we tell connect us, they move us, and when they’re really special, they change us.

Those special stories, the ones that make us think and feel, the ones that leave an indelible mark on our hearts and souls, they don’t come from the same pool of generic setups and one-dimensional characters we’ve seen over and over again.

They come from you.

Or, at least, that’s what we believe here at Inspired. We believe that it’s only through showing who you are with your writing can you truly reach your audience in a meaningful way.

Eligibility

Anyone 18 and over

Rules

We accept feature film scripts only.
Entries must be between 80 - 120 pages.
All scripts need to be written in English or translated to English.
You must own the rights. We will only accept original screenplays, written by you. If it is an adaptation, you must own the rights to the source material.
Scripts should be PDF format and have your name in the file name.
Try to keep it roughly in industry-standard screenplay format. We want you to express yourself but if you break general format rules, please have a good reason.

Awards

FOR THE QUARTERFINALISTS

The Inspired Screenwriting Competition has partnered with the Alliance of Women Directors, Film Fatales, USC's Peter Stark Producing Program Alumni group, USC's Women of Cinematic Arts alumni group, as well as several independent producers to create a networking portal for our quarterfinalists and above. If your script makes it to the quarter finals, its logline and your contact info (if you opt in) will be shared with the members of all of the above groups (over 2000 people total.) Our networking portal member list includes Oscar nominees, major film festival participants (Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, etc) and award winners. If a director or producer is interested in learning more about your script for a possible collaboration, they will reach out to you directly.
