DEVIL CATCHERS

Laura Cannelli, a young Catholic Brooklyn lawyer, whose faith in God waivers, is chosen to defend a young man accused of committing a heinous act of murder. When the young man claims he’ innocent, even though five eyewitnesses, including a police officer, saw him kill a twelve year-old boy on a Brooklyn street corner, Laura comes to realize the young man may be possessed. After meeting with a priest and with the help of Dr. Archer Bell, a world-renowned expert on demonology and the reality of possession, Laura pleads her client “Not guilty by reason of demonic possession.” Setting off a firestorm of national publicity and a climatic trial that equals the magnitude of the Scopes Monkey Trial by pitting believers against non-believers, Laura must prove to a jury the Devil exists in order to win her case and to save the young man’s soul
