Author Bio: Ryan LaPlante is a multiple award-winning Filmmaker and Screenwriter with a background in performance of all kinds. Ryan’s screenplays have been made official selections or contest finalists at festivals throughout the USA, including: Shriekfest, The Mile High Horror Fest, FilmQuest, The NOLA New Orleans Horror Film Festival, The Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, The Action on Film Festival, The Creative World Awards, The International Horror Hotel Film Festival and The Haunted Horror International Film Festival.

Some of his screenwriting awards include "Best Unproduced Screenplay" for his revenge thriller ZERO SUM GAME (Buffalo Dreams), "#1 Slasher Feature Screenplay" for the found-footage serial killer screenplay THE PATH (Horror Hotel), and "#1 Thriller Feature Screenplay" for the horror/thriller REDCAP TOWING (Horror Hotel).

Ryan also wrote & directed the feature film HOLY HELL (2015) whose festival run is still ongoing. Thus far it has played 15 festivals around the world and picked up 10 awards including: "The Viewer's Choice Award" (Horror Hotel), "The Audience Choice Award" (Milwaukee Twisted Dreams), "Best Horror Feature" (MCN), "#1 Horror/Comedy Feature" (The Indie Gathering), and "Best Comedy Feature" (Buffalo Dreams).

Ryan graduated from Queen’s University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Drama. He is also a graduate of the Second City Training Centre’s Improv Conservatory. Ryan’s non-institutional acting training includes musical theatre, opera, classical acting, improv, sketch comedy and voiceover.

With an anarchistic sense of humour and a driving passion for film and television, Ryan is excited to be constantly learning and creating.
