Author Bio: Tina Juárez’s historical novel on the Mexican Revolution, CALL NO MAN MASTER (University of Houston: Arte Publico Press), received the Violet Crown Award, presented by the Texas Writers’ League for the best work of fiction. Praised for its authenticity and attention to detail by historians of colonial Mexico, it was a featured book in the Texas Book Festival. The sequel to CALL NO MAN MASTER, SOUTH WIND COME (University of Houston: Arte Publico Press), was a featured book in the Texas Book Festival and was reprinted in part in the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Tina is a much sought after speaker on the life and times of Father Miguel Hidalgo, the "Father of Mexican Independence” and a central character in THE BANNER aka FATHER MIGUEL.
