Q: What's the title of the script you entered in this contest, and what's it about?

A: THE VIKING BOATS. Docudrama/fiction based on World War II evacuation of the trapped British Army off the beaches of Dunkirk, France. In the fictional part, Churchill must now defend England against the threat of German invasion by a fleet of 10,000 mysterious, hidden "Viking boats."

Q: What made you enter this particular contest? Have you entered any other contests with this script? If so, how did you do?

A: Script won 2nd prize above. Script earlier had won gold medal for best historic at the WorldFest Flagstaff Film festival, and has placed well in several other contests.

Q: Were you given any feedback on your script? If so, did you find the feedback helpful?

A: No feedback from any contest.

Q: Has your success in this contest helped you market your script? Were you contacted by any agents, managers or producers?

A: Contest success hasn't helped.

Q: What's your background? Have you written any other screenplays or television scripts?

A: Earned living as graduate engineer and computer scientist. Written many stage plays before writing many screenplays. Two stage plays published by prestigious firm of Samuel French, Inc. Background has to be military service in Western Europe combat zone in World War II. Made use of this experience in several other screenplays besides this one. Currently have a promising script inspired by Iraq war.

Q: Do you live in Los Angeles? If not, do you have any plans to move there?

A: No plans whatever to move to Los Angeles from my home in Bethesda, Maryland.

Q: What's next? Are you working on a new script?

A: Forever working on new script ideas and reworking existing scripts when a new idea bursts forth. Tell me why no producer is interested in my Iraq story which is as up to date as those notorious prisoner abuse photos--to be incorporated in my screenplay!
